Launch of the Sète Pilot Boat Built by JFA Naval
JFA Naval carried out, this Friday, April 17, the launch of the new pilot boat intended for the port of Sète. This major milestone marks the culmination of a project initiated at Chantiers Bernard. Following the difficulties encountered by that shipyard, the clients chose to transfer the composite hull and wheelhouse to JFA Naval in order to complete all technical installations, outfitting, and final fitting-out of the vessel.
Designed to meet the specific requirements of maritime pilotage operations, this unit combines robustness, performance, and safety. Its design, created by the Nantes-based firm Archi Delion, focuses on efficiency at sea, maneuverability, and pilot comfort, including under demanding operating conditions.
The launch represents a key stage in the program, paving the way for sea trials. These will make it possible to validate the proper functioning of the equipment, the vessel’s performance, as well as its compliance with regulatory requirements and the expectations of its future operator.
Delivery of the pilot boat is scheduled in the coming weeks, following the completion of sea trials and final adjustments.
